Memorial Day Weekend at Home
A quiet reflection on Memorial Day weekend, family gatherings at home, and the small moments around food that matter most. Plus, our Memorial Day sale details from May 20–25.
There’s something quiet about Memorial Day weekend.
The slower mornings. The sound of kids playing outside. Someone cutting watermelon in the kitchen while something simple cooks on the grill. A table slowly filling with family, neighbors, and familiar recipes that somehow taste like summer returning again.
But underneath those moments is something deeper.
Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. It’s a holiday carried with gratitude, reflection, and respect for the families whose lives were forever changed by that sacrifice.
At home, those reminders often live in the small things. A flag placed carefully outside. Stories passed around the dinner table. The understanding that gathering together freely is something not everyone got to continue doing with the people they love.
This weekend, many of us will fill our fridges for backyard dinners, long afternoons with family, and meals shared slowly between conversations. And as always, we’re reminded how much life happens around food.
The strawberries waiting for dessert. The greens prepped ahead for tomorrow’s lunch. The herbs tucked into the fridge for recipes passed down over generations. These ordinary things become part of the memories too.
At Ambrosia, caring for food has always meant caring for the people around it. Helping produce stay fresh a little longer. Helping families waste less. Helping everyday rhythms at home feel a little simpler and more intentional.
From May 20–25, we’ll be holding our Memorial Day Weekend Sale.
