Letter to the Woman Who Started It All

When we think about Ambrosia Bags, we often talk about sustainability, produce, and reducing waste—but behind it all, there’s a deeper story. This is a letter from Jordan, the son of our founder, and it’s a reminder that the heart of this company has always been rooted in love, care, and quiet determination.

A Garden, a Glow, and the Beginning

"When I think about Ambrosia Bags, I don’t just think about produce or sustainability. I think about my mom.

I think about the nights in our Ojai backyard — the garden lit by a single lamp and the soft glow of streetlights — as she worked the soil after long days of raising me on her own. It was often the only time she had. I’d be nearby, watching her move with quiet focus and so much care."

A Crunchy Mom with a Big Heart

"She was always the 'crunchy' mom — packing healthy lunches while we begged for the snacks our friends had. I didn’t always get it then, but now I’m deeply grateful."

That same intention carried into everything she touched, including the kitchen at Ojai Montessori School.

"I saw that same conviction when she took over the kitchen. She believed kids deserved better meals, and she made it happen. Knowing my lunches came from her hands made me proud, even back then."

From a Quiet Idea to a Living Legacy

Now in her early sixties, she started something from scratch — a small, thoughtful company with a big impact.

"In her early sixties, she started Ambrosia Bags — a way to help families waste less and keep produce fresh longer. What began as a quiet idea has grown into something real, and I’m honored to help bring it to life."

Behind the scenes, she’s still doing what she’s always done — showing up, caring deeply, and working hard.

"Today, she still runs fulfillment and answers your questions with the same thoughtfulness she’s always shown me. She’s the soul of this company — and always has been."

The Heart of Ambrosia

"I often think of Mommy & Me, the bedtime book she used to read me. It reminded me that love doesn’t have to be loud — it just has to be there.

That’s my mom. And that’s the heart of Ambrosia Bags."

A Mother's Day Tribute

"Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. Thank you for the garden nights, the whole-food lunches, and the legacy I’m proud to carry forward."

With love,
Jordan
